Katie Rich, 16, daughter of Richard and Nancy Rich was crowned the 2010 BHAM Representative at the All American Buckskin Horse Congress. Katie is a Junior at Sandusky High School where she is active in Student Council and Band. She is also involved in 4-H, showing her horse and active in the county horse judging team. She is very dedicated to showing horses; she spends most of her time with them and when not showing, Katie helps her grandfather with the family's Standardbred racehorses. She loves hanging out with friends and having fun.
Katie has been showing her Buckskin horse Cash's Fancy "Ruger" for five years and shown on the BHAM ABRA circuit for three years. She truly enjoys being part of the Michigan Buckskin Horse Assocation as all the people are so nice, and helpful. She looks forward to helping the Jr. BHAM youth and having fun with everyone.
Katie has achieved the 2007 & 2009 Season Hi-Point ABRA Youth & Overall Hi-Point at the All American Buckskin Congress and 2008 Reserve Season Hi-Point ABRA & Overall Reserve Hi-Point at the All American Buckskin Congress; 2009 BHAM ABRA 14-18 yr. Saddle Winner and Placed First Overall at the Michigan State 4-H Horse Judging Competition. She has also earned many ABRA points in English, Western and Showmanship.
During her year as BHAM Youth Representative she will represent the organization at various events including the Michigan Horse Expo. We all wish her luck as she prepares to compete for the national title of ABRA Youth Representative at the 2010 ABRA World Show, July 28th to August 1st in Tulsa Oklahoma.
